Meet Our Pharmacists

Amy Sessions, PharmD. & Owner

I knew by the age of 12 that I wanted to pursue a career in pharmacy. My local hometown pharmacist at that time was someone I looked up to and admired! I decided I wanted to be just like him. As soon as I could, I began working at the local drug store and later the hospital. This work confirmed my passion for pharmacy. I eagerly chose a profession in which I could make a difference in the lives of others. After graduating high school, I attended Campbell University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and was accepted into Pharmacy School at Campbell. I graduated with my Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree in 1998. I was sure I was going to go into Hospital Pharmacy at that time since I had been working for many years in that arena and loved it!

However, God had different plans for me and I was offered a job at Baldwin Woods Pharmacy where I had performed one of my rotations while in pharmacy school! My lab coat has hung here since then. Things have definitely progressed and changed over the years and I am proud to be a part of the Baldwin Woods Pharmacy Team.

I have several American Pharmaceutical Association Certifications which include Diabetes, Immunizations, and Medication Therapy Management. I am also CPR certified. These certifications allow me to broaden my scope of pharmacy practice from just filling and dispensing medications all day to a more clinical role. The joy of making a difference in patients' lives makes my career so rewarding!

Outside of my job that I love, I am fortunate to be a wife and mother of three daughters who each have a piece of my heart. I have also coached softball for the past 10 years and am very involved in my local church.

When I was young, my father instilled in my sister and me the love for the outdoors and nature. With that being said, what most of my patients are surprised to hear is that I am an avid sportsman, especially deer hunting. I also love to exercise by walking, running and riding bikes on a regular basis.

Also, I have some special ladies at my home in Lake Waccamaw that get special attention daily.....my flock of 9 chickens! Yes, I am one of those crazy chicken ladies!

Come see me and let the Baldwin Woods Pharmacy team become your pharmacy family.
